Care[]
- Consider drinking more water for acne and damaged skin.
- Avoid touching your face throughout the day.
- Consider fragrance-free products for sensitive skin.
- Consider acne fighting products for acne prone skin.
- Consider moisturizing cleansing products and masks or heavier moisturizers for damaged skin.
Sensitive Skin[]
Rosacea, skin allergies, etc. These conditions can make skin care more difficult and can be trigger from things such as stress, heat, foods, etc. Sometimes topical application is not enough and you may need to consult with a general practitioner or dermatologist.
Check ingredient lists carefully! Products labelled as being Hypoallergenic might not be fragrance-free or free of irritants. Fragrance and Parfum might cause issues for some people.
Skin Allergies[]
Topical treatments and antihistamines, on top of a careful skincare routine, still might not be enough be sure to have discussed your options with a general practitioner or dermatologist.
Acne Prone Skin[]
Breakouts can more frequent due to hormone unbalances, overactive oil glands, bad eating habits and/or medication.
For cystic acne, a natural option is to use diluted tea tree oil, but it is recommended to see a dermatologist if your case is more severe.
Fungal acne can be aggravated by heavy moisturizers.
Teen Acne[]
Teen hormones often result in an overproduction of facial oils and sebum, leading to clogged pores and breakouts. Daily washing of the face with a gentle cleanser may help.
Adult Acne[]
This can be caused by hormonal imbalances, normal hormone cycles, bad eating habits, excess oil on the face, or medication. Consider washing and cleansing your face daily to wash away excess oils and dirt. Sometimes OTC treatments are not enough and you may need to consult with a dermatologist.
Mature Skin and Wrinkles[]
Fine lines and wrinkles are more likely arise. Oil production becomes less productive, collagen breaks down, cells retain less moisture and long term damage (sun, cold, etc.) has been building up. Products containing retinol are a powerful option for reducing fine lines. Protection against sun exposure is recommended to slow aging of skin.
Prolonged Sun and Harsh Weather Damage[]
More intense moisturizers and treatments may be required. Gentle cleansers are recommended, less exfoliation, and more moisture. Be sure to be aware of spots and bumps that have a different consistency than the rest of your skin.
