Foundation gives the face and some of the neck area an even tone and adds a base to the skin for makeup. It is often used with a Primer for better results.
What it evens out:[]
- Red/Flushed cheeks.
- Broken veins/blood vessels.
- Freckles.
Breakouts and dark circles usually require a step further with Concealer unless you are using a Cream Foundation.
Textures[]
Textures of foundations are liquid, cream and solids:
- Liquid Foundations are light coverage and ideal for day makeup, Normal Skin and Mature Skin.
- Cream Foundations are heavier and help Problem Skin with more coverage.
Apply with a Foundation Brush and blend with a Sponge or Foundation Blending Brush.
- Powder Foundation either used with other foundations to set the makeup (Finishing Powder) or for light coverage for Normal to Oily skin (Foundation Powder). It is available as loose powder or a solid in a compact.
- Finishing Powder is translucent powder are used with other foundations to set the makeup. Matte or Velvet powders are anti-shine so helpful for Oily Skin or the T Zone for Normal Skin.
Apply with a Powder Brush or Sponge.
