Eyeshadow is the colouring, shading and/or highlighting of the eye lids and nearby area.

Eyeshadow Types[]

Powder, liquid and cream.

Powder[]

The most common type and with the most colour selection. Best before timeframe for use is two years or more.

Liquid[]

Easy to apply and fast drying to powdered texture. Best before timeframe for use is six month to a year.

Cream[]

Recommended for dry to normal skin, as well as mature skin. Best before timeframe for use is six month to a year.

Eyeshadow Textures and Effects[]

Matte[]

Free of sheen, shimmer or glitter.

Metallic[]

A metallic effect. Alternatively, referredas Frosted.

Satin[]

A texture between matte and shimmer.

Sheer[]

A shine texture and less pigment; similar to a gloss.

Shimmer[]

A luminous sheen and shift. Alternatively, referred as Glimmer.

Sparkle[]

A 3-D sparkle and shift. Alternatively, referred as Glitter.

Areas of the Eye[]

The mapping of the eye determines the application of shading and/or highlighting of the eye makeup.

Brow[]

Also known as highlight. Below the eyebrows arch.

Contour[]

Also known as brow, brow bone or above crease— or merged as brown bone and highlight with highlight the highest part before the eyebrow. Just below the brow part of the eye and above the crease.

Crease[]

Above the lid of the eye but before the contour.

Inner Corner[]

The part nearest the tear ducts; where the upper and lower lid meet.

Upper Lid[]

Under the crease seen fully when the eye is shut and proportion of when eyes are open. Unless you have Flat Eyes then only seen when eyes are shut.

Inner Lid[]

Inner upper lid, after the inner corner of the eyes.

Mid Lid[]

Mid upper lid.

Outer Lid[]

Outer upper lid just before the "V".

Lower Lid[]

Just below the lower lash line, from just the inner corner of the eyes to just before the "V".

Lash Line[]

The part nearest the eyelashes.

Upper Lash Line[]

Just above the upper eyelashes.

Lower Lash Line[]

Just under the lower eyelashes.

"V"[]

The outer corners of the eye just after the outer lid.

Waterline[]

The part of the eye above the lower eye lashes, and below the upper lashes and where the lids meet when we close our eyes.

Application[]

Application of Eyeshadow vary depending on Eye Shape and Shadowing Style.
